AMRRI’s very own Mike Johnson collaborated with Rich Wurzbach and EPRI to craft “Nuclear Maintenance Applications Center: Effective Grease Practices.”

A word from Mike Johnson:

Speaking of Greased Bearing Problems.….  A few years ago I worked closely with MRG Laboratories’ Rich Wurzbach to write a definitive statement on grease-based machine lubrication practices, addressing the topic A to Z.  This was done for the Electric Power Research Institute’s Nuclear Maintenance Applications Group.

This definitive report has been released for public consumption.  If you want a Grease Applications Bible, then here is your chance.

This document covers Grease Practices Definition (volume and frequency), Grease Application, Acoustic Analysis, Grease Sampling and Analysis, and much more.

Nick Camilli and Rich Wurzbach – you guys are brilliant!  I’m pleased to have been a part of this project.”

Read below what Wurzbach had to say about the project and the importance of the data to the industry:

“With collaboration from the leaders in lubrication in the Power Generation industry, EPRI partnered with Rich Wurzbach and Mike Johnson to create this document exclusively for the power industry.  Now it is available to all for download, to take advantage of this knowledge that has been closely held for the last 10 years.  This provides a real-opportunity to learn truly Effective Grease Practices that can be implemented today to provide immediate and measurable results.”
